What do you think of this news? Is this a good thing for the project? Are you excited to experience the cut content that was removed from the original game, even if it means development will take a bit longer? Or would you rather just get your hands on the game as soon as possible? At the time of writing, all that we know for sure is that the Dead Space Remake will be releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC when it does eventually drop at some point in the next few years. We also haven’t been given a great deal of information regarding the game’s release. The downside though, is that this more ambitious project will likely take a good few years to develop before it is ready for release. One main takeaway from this interview is that this Dead Space remake sounds as though it is shaping up to be far more ambitious than anyone initially thought. It’s really rebuilding all these elements, shooting all the animations, etc.” We are not porting them, it’s not uprezzing the texture or adding more polygons to the model. ![]() “Then in terms of visuals, sound, gameplay, everything, we are rebuilding all of these assets. He then went on to state how Motive are actually using these original Dead Space assets, but instead of directly implementing them, the team are essentially rebuilding them again for a new generation. “In the first chapter, you can see some corridors that they wanted to do first in a certain way, and then you can understand why they changed it for technical constraints or. What’s funny is that you can see some of the iterations that were made prior to ship by the team,” Campos-Oriola stated with regards to these old assets. “We started with the original level design of the original Dead Space. This will apparently include a number of features that weren’t featured in the original version of the game. In an interview with IGN, Creative Director at EA Motive, Roman Campos-Oriola discussed how the team are using key assets from the first Dead Space game to aid in the development of this updated version. EA Motive will be the team heading up development on the remake of the original Dead Space, however this apparently won’t be a shot-for-shot remake of the 2008 creep-fest.Īside from the fact that the core structure that made up the experience of the original Dead Space will indeed be present in this remake, the team at Motive have stated that this time around, they will include additional story aspects that were left on the cutting room floor back in 2008. Following a rumour that we reported on last month regarding a Dead Space Remake, EA have since confirmed that they will indeed be reviving the modern classic horror series.
